Training Programs and Testing for Direct Care Workers

Pro Care Unlimited located in Bingham Farms, MI welcomes anyone who wants to be one of our direct care workers, but interested individuals must first complete the required training and documents to become one of us. To make things easier for you, we have posted the necessary topics you must learn. We also offer CPR training in our office, and we have computers in our lobby for VCE online classes.

Please note that recipient rights training is mandatory. To study at our location, kindly contact us and we’ll schedule an appointment with you as soon as possible.

15 VCE Required Training

These training programs must be completed before you become a direct care worker. They cover a wide variety of subjects that will prepare individuals who are interested in becoming part of our staff.

  • 5 Most Important Step: Select Pro Care Unlimited As the Organization (This Will Assure Access to Your Training Records)
  • 6 Select Direct Care/Community Health Worker
  • 7 For Service Type, Select Community Living Support and Respite Care Services
  • 8 For Population Group, Select I/DD Adult, I/DD Child, MI Adult, MI Child
  • 9 For Primary Population, Select I/DD Adult
  • 10 Enter Any Professional License Number You May Have, Certificates/Certifications, or Any Special Requests for DWC Events

CPR In-House Training

Our agency offers CPR training at our location. This is a convenient option for anyone who wants to complete this required training with no up-front cost. Included in CPR training are the following topics:

  • TPR
  • Nutrition and Food
  • Environmental Emergencies
  • Positive Techniques for Addressing Challenging Behaviors

TB Test

A negative TB test result is necessary before you can begin working as a direct care worker at our agency. There are many testing locations that you can go to, including your local health department. For your convenience, we have listed some centers that provide TB testing services within Wayne and Oakland County.
